This is Katie and Tim.
First off, Katie and Tim are friends that I’ve known for years. Tim and I worked together in the schools before he and Katie were official. She came along, I met her, loved her, love her and now the pair of them are way cooler than either one of them alone (or at least Tim, who is the one I can speak of). That’s them. Tim is respectable, dependable, hilarious and a ton of beer drinking fun. Katie is maybe a little more flighty (in the best way), crazy creative, say whatever the f**k she wants and is also a ton of beer drinking fun. She also runs Poor Sparrow, her custom jewelry space in town (which you should definitely check out). So yeah, thats them.
They were married at her parent’s lake house in Mt. Gilead on Lake Candlewood for the most laid back, do it yourself with great personal meaning kind of wedding. I had heard bits and pieces about the wedding beforehand but when Maria and I walked on site we instantly knew that this was going to be an insanely beautiful, personable and kickass wedding. We were photographers, sure. We were guests, too. . .big time guests, which is pretty spectacular to experience having been given directions over and over again that Katie and Tim wanted us to be friends first, photographers second. It did mean that there was more photographing with a beer in hand later in the evening and in this case I think that’s a good thing.
It’s party time.
Soak it in. Katie recently turned 30. Tim’s close to 80, so. . .
