I’ve dreamt of the Pacific Northwest for a while. It’s silly, really. Being immersed in a world of visual seconds, I’ve had this throbbing heartache. . .a mental heartbeat and lust for wide-eyed adventures in this region for so long. It’s soaked me with feelings capable of being encapsulated so profoundly through a single photograph.
The thing is that none of these single photographs were mine. None of these adventures were mine.
They were beautiful. The region seemed ethereally surreal from what I’d seen from others. It. Was. Beautiful. And so I knew from the first moment that considered photography to be a plausible way of making a living that I would need to explore the Pacific Northwest. Fortunately, I was able to visit as part of a greater time away for work; image making, moment grabbing, connecting with photography more deeply so that I may better serve my people. This time it was Oregon. Specifically, it was around the Portland area. Specifically, it kicked ass in a most righteously internal way.
I’m also really grateful for it because it allowed me the opportunity to meet some cool people along the way — some of which I photographed, some of which I did not, some of which that will come.
So yeah, here is a quick lot of pictures grabbed while out there. More to come. . .
