Jaime & Dan. What to say about Jaime & Dan?
I’ll say this. Before their wedding the three of us talked over the phone quite a bit. We met in person for engagements at Cuyahoga Valley National Park outside of Cleveland. We talked over the phone quite a bit. I say that because I truly do believe that it aided in a more substantial visual product — one rooted in communicating best scenarios, a united vision and then ultimately letting go of their planning and control for a foundation of trust. . .in me. After all was said and planned, I concretely feel that they held on to trust.
Trust in photography. Trust in me. That felt good.
Since the wedding they have expressed their happiness with the final product. They’re happy. That’s number one. They’re appreciative. I’m currently looking at their ‘thank you’ card that we’ve hung on our Christmas card wall (because why not?). On top of that, the set of images that I cataloged over the course of the entire day in Cleveland are some of my absolute favorites from the year; both as a set and as individual images that can stand on their own. I’ll take people of trust & communication every damn day.
Grab some wine. Take in some Cleveland love and stormy skies.
